(1 April 1810) ; pupil of A C Pugin (by 1826) ; entered the office of William Wilkins (1832 or 1833) ; worked in partnership with Thomas Larkins Walker (1834-1836) ; became Honorary Architect to the Diocese of Bath and Wells (1841) ; his son Edmund Benjamin Ferrey practised with him for ten years ; became one of the first Fellows of the Institute of British Architects (1839) ; was twice the Institute's Vice-President ; received its Gold Medal (1870)
