Born in London, of a Greek family; was introduced to the Pre-Raphaelites by the Ionides family; posed for Dante Gabriel Rossetti, Edward Burne-Jones and Whistler, and for Julia Margaret Cameron; pupil of Ford Madox Brown; exhibited at the Royal Academy (1870s) and at the Dudley Gallery; married William Stillman, and they lived in Italy (1875-1898); died in London (1 March 1927)
