Probably born at 80 High Holborn, London (27 November 1791), eldest son of Apsley Pellatt glass maker, and his wife Mary; educated by Dr Wanostrocht at Camberwell; joined his father's business; married 1) Sophronia Kemp (1814), she died 1815, 2) Margaret Elizabeth Evans of Balham (1816), had one son who died 1838 and three daughters; patented a glass decoration for pottery or other ware (1819), and took out other patents for improvements in glass manufacture; wrote on the theory and history of glass making; elected associate of the Institute of Civil Engineers (1838); was involved in making it possible for Jews to enter the freedom of the City of London; MP for Southwark (1852-1857); died at Balham (17 April 1863)
