| GB/NNAF/P2808 Blore, Edward (1787-1879) Gender: Male Functions, occupations and activities Born in Derby (13 September ?1787); son of Thomas Blore, author of "History of Rutland", for which Edward provided illustrations; produced illustrations and plans for other books, including working for Sir Walter Scott; married (1819); involved in the Gothic revival and designed fittings for Peterborough Cathedral; had a flourishing practice as an architect; surveyor to Westminster Abbey; Fellow of the Royal Society (1841) and of the Society of Antiquaries, and co-founder of the Royal Archaeological Institute; special architect to William IV and to Queen Victoria; died in London (4 September 1879).
